Nexus Canada US

Hi
My wife and I are planning a trip from Lake Ontario to Florida. We heard being a member of Nexus was helpful for boarder crossing into the US.
Is anyone out there a member of Nexus and have you found it worth while from a marine perspective.
Thank you,
Kenny S

I've got a Nexus card. I use it for crossing the border on foot, by plane and by boat. Love it, worth every penny. The only time it isn't useful is when you're crossing the border by boat and you have a passenger without one, then regular check ins apply.

Re: Nexus Canada US

I have Nexus and it definitely saves time. Another benefit is that it also came with 5 years of Pre-check so you can go through the fast line of airport security. All for $50. At the time, signing up for Pre-check on TSA's sight cost $85. So the Nexus/pre-check was a bargain.

I've had a Nexus card for a few years now. It's primary value for me is border crossing by car as many border crossings have a dedicated Nexus line. Larger airports will have TSA pre-check line to get you through security with less hassle and if you fly internationally get signed up with Global Enrollment. Crossing into the US from Canada by boat is easier with Nexus as you won't have to check into a "Port of Call".

We have Nexus and went back and forth repeatedly. Check in by phone was easy as long as everyone is in Nexus. We registered our cars and the boat as conveyances. Best deal anywhere!

It would be a no-brainer, except for the very small number of Nexus interview locations. Having to travel hundreds of miles for an appointment is not worth it unless you plan on using Nexus a lot.
