As far as I can tell NZ cat one is substantially the same as the ISAF special regulations for offshore except that some recommendations are in fact mandatory IE. crotch straps on life jackets and harnesses SSB radio TX and Rx must be carried as well as vhf, any new trisail must be rescue orange and sextant and tables must be carried. training is replaced with experience. It is interesting that our regs for offshore cruisers are in-fact stricter than these racing regs !
