Offshore SAR is handled by the RNZN and the RNZAF. NZ together with Chile, Australia and France have the largest combined SAR area of responsibility on the planet.

In the UK the RNLI handles inshore SAR ( I'm an 'Offshore' member for the last 20+ years)... Offshore its down to the RN and the RAF... esp the RAF helicopters - Prince William was flying them for a while.

Both look pretty much the same 'models' to me.....

What I want to know is who has been going round pissing in everyone's porridge this fine sunny morning....?

OK,are you really Brian Lara ?
Short resume,don't know how to do the accent after resume.That's just my age I suppose .Would ask my son but he would only roll his eyes.
1961-67 messing about in dinghys.
1967 -75 messing about in the French canals and Meditteranean sea.
75-81 messing about in southern Africa (Mozambique channel and Capetown.
81 - now, just messing about in boats.
Hope that not too confusing.
