Since I'm investigating importing a Canadian-built boat from
Canada to
USA, here's what I've found:

Requires proof of
ownership (bill of sale) and EPA form for the
motor. If the
motor is more than 20 years old there's no EPA rubbish to deal with, just a check box.
Duty on sailboats is 1.5% unless NAFTA, when it's 0%. However, one has to have proper documentation- the Certificate of Origin.

I think it would be wise to employ an
import broker (not yacht broker) to ensure everything is coordinated ahead of time. One missing piece, and it could turn into a nightmare.
