Thanks Gord. Nice to have something approaching actual data. Puts this $15 thing in an interesting perspective.

There's Social Knowledge, in the business (apparently) of making forums and generating revenue on those, the moderators with their hidden forum, and then us unwashed proletariat who should be happy with what they get, thank you very much. The rules, judgements, decisions, appeals, and final authority take place behind the scenes and are not open to discussion.

Cruisersforum.com overall is a great net positive so please keep that in prospective; I'm just trying to offer up some constructive criticism.

This is my biggest issue with the forum, I could care less if money is being made. It's the behind the scenes stuff that bothers me. If you rub a mod the wrong way on a personal level, your outta here forever. Once banned you can't ask why. I've noticed that a 90 day can suddenly become a year once completed.

I appreciate that tongue in cheek (albeit probably treated as such by folks marketing to fellas in the west ), nonetheless I would say by pure numbers it is the Chinese who must be having the most sex and can therefore claim the title. Likely even the USA above Thailand in numbers - albeit from my reading of Facebook seems that at least half of those will be in the missionary position, with the lights out and thinking of Jesus . and / or Mitt Romney .

It surprises me how many people think they are owed something for nothing, especially when it comes to products found on the internet that someone or many people have obviously put a lot of effort into providing for you.

Nobody is forcing anyone to buy the products that are advertised. And of course without the advertising you would not be reading this, unless you want to cough up $15, and I dont see a whole lot of Cruisers Forum Supporter icons around here.
Probably just as well we can't change our titles anymore from Registered User......as I suspect that would be a lot of FREELOADERS .

Dave does your tin foil hat have a hole in it again? If that is what people are thinking of during sex when there are lots of boat topics to consider it is just becoming a sad world.

Re: Has The Cruisers Forum Sold Out?

Thanks for that good hard info, Gord.

Funny, all this time I imagined CF was worth a whole lot more than that. We don't add up to much more than a hill of beans.

But I love the collective wisdom here, which is worth pure gold to us all.

Instead of "Registered User" it could well read "Freeloader". Then CF would see the $ rolling in to get one's status changed for the better. Maybe.

I hate to agree with Dave (goboatingnow) very often but sharing the revenue with posters has an interesting flavor to it. In my case, I'd truly be getting something for nothing!

For the record, I love CF. Just today, I searched and found answers to two different real questions I had. Yesterday I discovered someone who shaves their legs with cold water. Hint: It ain't Tacoma.

Tomorrow, who knows?

A guy played this in a bar on Christmas day with the introduction that he hoped it wasn't inappropriate.

I'm note sure I'd put much weight on these reports. They place CruisersForum and YachtWorld at around the same value.

Anyway, I agree that if anyone doesn't like the value proposition here, they can go elsewhere. I just think that's an unfortunate response to the elements of constructive criticism that are peppered about in this thread.
