Greek permit availability

We arrived in Zakinthos Town from Italy yesterday, expecting the 'normal' check in procedures but it seems it's all changed! They don't have any travel permits available(Depka??) since they run out a couple of weeks ago and tell you to check the next port, although it seems quite a few other ports don't have then, including Cephalonia.

Anyone else getting same experience or encountering any problems?

I'm guessing it maybe down to the cruising tax issue and assume they are not going to print anymore and await the new stuff in 2017. Any views on this?

DEKPA are the Greek initials for a "Cruising Bulletin" or "Private Pleasure Boat Maritime Traffic Document"

Thanks.

You are supposed to get one on entry and hands it on exit, hence calling it a permit, but they don't have any nor do they have any 'transit logs' for non-EU flagged boats.

Re: Greek permit availability

got a transit log in May from Igoumenitsa. We've. been sweating over the new tax for a couple of years, but so far the bureaucracy is winning. If customs has instructed you to search elsewhere, I would do that. It's a bit jumbled at the moment. few ports are demanding paperwork. Don't think you'll be challenged in Frikes, Kioni, Port Kastos, Kalamos, Mytikas, anywhere on Meganisi,. Customs in Preveza. The port police patrol the town quay but rarely the town marina which they are next to.
