Forum Rules of the Road

How about creating a forum section called "the parking lot" where people who want to argue about who's right and who's wrong can go to fight it out so we don't have to read all their BS to try to keep up with a thread?
You know like "Why don't you guys take it out in the parking lot.."
The a Moderator can simply send their posts over there....

That would take up way too much of my time, and life is too short.

I sure would not want to moderate that forum!

Re: Forum Rules of the Road

Someone would then have to decide what constitutes an "argument" and what is just a difference of opinion. If everyone had the same opinion there would be little need to post.

I can say one needs to keep a constant lookout and someone else can say one doesn't. I can post my justification for my point of view and the other person can post his or her justification for his or her point of view.

The problem is, some folks need to try to belittle or insult anyone whose view is different from theirs. And of course, that's when it turns into a nasty argument. There are right ways to express yourself and there are wrong ways.

Re: Forum Rules of the Road

I never get into a discussion with someone who disagrees with me.

I'm always right. The fact that some people fail to recognize that means they're dumb. That's not their fault. People are born that way. So there's no point to get angry with them.

Re: Forum Rules of the Road

Not going to happen.

Fights in some dark corner of the forum have a tendency to spill over to other areas.

We, as the moderator team, will continue to moderate as in the past. We do have a BE NICE rule, and that applies to all parts of CF.

So, group hugs all around, OK guys.

I would be willing to argue any side of any topic for a modest fee. To make it easy you can put the fee on my PayPal account.
