Charlie, an LLC is literally a Limited Liability Corrporation. How differently the two get treated depends on the state laws, which also may change every year. (As many US state and federal laws will this weekend, heads up!)

Ram-
If your boat is owned by a corporation, doesn't your insurer want to charge them a different and higher "business rate" to insure it? Or is it sufficient that the operator, not the owner, carry insurance?
