You know, it's really not that much money
. If you think it's something that's going to be the slightest concern, just shell out the hundred bucks or so and forget about it. Considering what you get for your money
(free place to live for a year) it's a pretty good bargin. You don't have to pay sales tax, just the registration
fee for your boat and your dingy. Sales tax applies if you buy your boat and THEN move it to Florida
within (I think) 90 days, or if you buy a boat in Florida
and don't move it out in (I think) 90 days.
But if you're going to get a knot
in your stomach every time you see a DNR boat, it's not worth it, just register the thing.
On the long list of things boat-related things I throw money at, this wouldn't even be on the radar
