customs in abacos bahamas

a few days ago i was informed after being pulled over that cruisers are required to go to the nearest port when crossing the bank green turtle is not the nearest port walker or spanish is thi s is rediculous but the defens force the nassau nazi threated to seize my vessel a 49 defever with my wife and i abord, did seize 2000$ of fishing gear as we pulled int green turtle to clear customs defense boat P49 look out for hiim , Thousand Island 904 669 9661 questions

It has been that way for a while now. All vessels must check in at the first port of clearance before continuing in Bahamian waters. Sorry that you found this out in a less than friendly way.

I guess it all depends on where you are arriving from, but I find it a little surprising that you would get grief for going to GTC instead of Spanish to clear in. They aren't all that far apart.
