Customs/Immigration locations returning to US from Bahamas

Where are the easy access customs & immigration locations on the southern east coast US?
We'll be returning from Bahamas this spring. I am familiar with the West Palm Beach/Riviera Beach facility. We'd like to enter further north and how far north will depend on weather. So I'd like various options.
Canaveral looks like a good stop, is it?
What about northern Florida or southern Georgia?

Of course it needs to be near an excellent inlet so I think that rules out anything north of Canaveral till Fernandina Beach/St. Johns & St. Mary's rivers.

We checked in at Ft Pierce, had to go to the airport there from the city marina. Was quick and no hassles. Got a local boater card last year, can now check in by phone. No more having to show up at customs (they can still require personal appearance).

There's more ports of entry than you can shake a stick.

Jacksonville is one, any town that size in Florida.... savannah in Georgia

Well, let me elaborate. I'm looking for check-in places that are close to anchorages or marinas where I can avoid a cab ride if possible. And Jacksonville is a long way inland, out of our way northbound.
We do have the LBO but I know that if I call in at a distant, remote location; that's when they'll tell me to come in anyway.

West Palm Beach might be your best bet. Other options: Fernandina Beach, Port Canaveral, Miami, Port Everglades and Key West.

What is the arrangement at Fernandina Beach? Walkable from the muni marina?

It's a longish cab ride at Port Everglades/Ft. Lauderdale from the nearest place you can get ashore to the offices which are in the wastelands behind the cruise ship docks.

It's about 5 blocks north from Fernandina Harbor Marina: 403 N. 3rd Street. Tel.# 904-261-6154. Easy walk.

Sestina nailed it on Port Everglades...we checked in there last time...longish cab ride from the Ft. Laud. marinas and we had to go through check points into the Port complex. Not the easiest.

Fernandina Beach sounds very good, thanks for that.

We'll shoot for Canaveral or Fernandina, depending on how long a window we get for crossing.
