Air Travel, TSA and Fish Hooks . . .

Trolling for info..... so to speak.

The TSA web sites do not specifically prohibit fish hooks in carry ons.
Their prohibited list is rather long and even discusses fishing poles etc. but does not list hooks as a no go item. I have some salt water gear I want to take with next time I go south and I'd rather not check a bag that only has a dozen lures in it.

I know, take the hooks off and buy replacements when you get there.... Thats one route. But a hassle.

Some googles searches would seem to indicate "this aint gona fly". Any one been down this route? US flights to the Caribbean?

Any one been getting lures through the X-rays lately?

Regards and good fishing,

Mike

Check a bag. You don't want to be at the mercy of some flunky's bad attitude.

I work with those guys daily, there's a few really good people there... then there's the other ten thousand.

In light of what happened in Pakistan this week I'd say you have two chances Buckley's and none.
Like the man said Fed Ex is your friend, what ever you do don't post them.
