Your favorite boarding step/ladder for midship

I want to make a step for midship boarding from dinghy. Anyone have a simple, durable, design that has stood up to the rigors of cruising.
Thanks
Erika

I am also interested in a design. Stern ladder has the lifelines and outboard bracket to negotiate.

Look at Cruising Concepts they make custom teak ladders. I have one I use daily.

I'm cheap...
A car tyre... nice homemade canvas cover that leaves the hole...
Some nice nylon braid and you've a boarding ladder.. and a dinhy fender if you lower it..
Over 37ft...? Link up 2...?
Edit; don't foget a drain hole..

I note you are asking about a step rather than necessarily a ladder.

I have a plastic stirrup.

I don't use the deck attachment, but just tie to one of the stanchions. When underway just flop it onto the deck.

Another solution I saw was a stirrup fabricated by another cruiser. This was 2 pieces of foam pool noodle tied together with a piece of conduit through each, and then the supporting rope threaded through that. The conduit provided sufficient shape and strength, and the foam was soft on the feet.

Just another idea I saw on a boat moored near mine. I am trying to improve my boarding system as-well.
