It's a way up the creek from the bridge & I guess the barges don't go up there much but definitely worth contacting them. I've got my steering in bits at the moment to fit the new hydraulic system but should be mobile in a couple of weeks. With a bit of creativity I might be able to get it to the main harbour if you arranged a sea carrier from there. (Rum is cheaper than a road pilot)

Still reckon get on the phone and ring the brokers, transporters, boat travel lift operators. There are boats travelling down all the time. Just need to find out who and hitch a lift. A couple of hours on the phone will do wonders....

Bit bloody cold to be sailing up there this time of year. Would have been good the last couple of weeks though.

Your present mast is a bit suspect

for a cruise up country isn't it?

I may have it coming to Wellington via Ship. Not confirmed yet, but working on it. Yeah didn't the temp drop in a hurry. I woke this morning, pulled back the curtains to take a look and had winter stearing back with a sinister Grin. We had snow on the hills around us this morning. I think we are in for our firs Frost tonight.As for the mast, I have put it through some really hard paces and the damn thing remains standing. Typical ain't it. You want it to fall over and it won't.

What a contrast from last week. Might have to fire up the woodburner tonight. Paula doesn't even want to go over the boat tonight and she is usually busting to get there. Must be cold.....

45 knot gusts on the harbour yesterday afternoon and hail. It almost wasn't fun sailing in that. Off to buy a decent pair of gloves today.

You need to sort that heater idea out fairly quickly Darryl.
I have some good news, it looks like the mast can hitch a ride on a ship from Auckland to Wellington. I am too late to get it to the ship for Monday's sailing, but hopefully the next turn around.

That's good. Easy to get it from Wellington to the Sounds. Only a 40 mile voyage for you.

Paula has only got 32 days more work so yeah, the heater is going to have to happen.

Well how bout you buy me a Diesel one and I'll give you the Gas one :-) hmmmm, didn't think so. oh well.
I would love one of those diesel turbo things. It would heat the huge area I have much better than the LPG unit I have now. And the big advantage is being able to duct it to the aft, pilothouse and Saloon.
