Y S Steering Pedistal bars

My 1987 Celestial 48 has a Y S Steering pedistal with safety bars that are 12.5" between centers. I can't find any info on YS (could be Yacht Systems).
I want to fit a new Navpod that fits to 12" bars. Is there any way that the pedistal's top plate could be changed so that 12" bars with a bend can be fitted or any other ideas?

You can do what I did, and have a new pedestal guard made to the diminsions and shape that you want...I had the same problem as you. I had mine made by Svendsen's Boat Works in Alameda, Ca., and it costs me less than $200.00.

As Jon D noted, Merriman Yacht Specialties went out of business in approximately 1989/90.

Holland Marine Products (HMP) has been reported to have parts for Merriman YS pedestals.
