Y-Flyer to Day Sailer ?

It looks like I may get a Y-Flyer that needs some transom repairs, and a mast. I have the mast, but no boom if I use the Y-Flyer mast. I have the 140 or so rig off the old 16 footer.
I could care less about racing. Nice social thing, but not my cup unless I am just crewing.
I would be sailing the big lakes of Missouri or places like Carlyle.
So, the question.
If someone handed you a Y-Flyer hull, and your goal was day sail/camping boat, what changes would you make.
A privacy screen that could be erected easily if needed would seem to be needed.
Thanks in advance!

Wow, I owned a Y-Flyer in my late teens. That would be the last boat I would consider camping in. But if you must, just throw in a couple of sleeping bags, a small cooler and a Coleman single burner camp stove. Forget about privacy. Let it all hang out!!!
