Dumb question, I know, but is there an easy way to remove the
fuel from the
fuel line linking an
outboard and an external tank, without disassembling the line? It's been difficult enough getting $1 gaskets for the
motor (can't find them on amazon or defender, have to drive to a dealer), so would prefer not to have to buy any new petty consumables like the heavy duty metal clips on the hose.
I currently drain the fuel by depressing the plunger on the
motor side of the hose with a pen, but, with the line under pressure, this gets fuel all over me, the floor, and the tank (a bigger bucket and gloves are one answer, I guess). Everything is winterized for this year, so all set now, but for next ...
I'm thinking of making a little rig to stick on top of a glass jar, similar to the male end that's on the motor itself, and so remove me and my pen from the equation in the future, but I'm just wondering if anyone else has already put some thought into this.
