Hey All,
I live in a 2 story houseboat in the
Puget Sound. I'm looking to stabilize the heel in the winds that come down off the bluff to my West. Otherwise I have to spin the
boat around each Fall to avoid the roof fascia from hitting the pier post. I've been thinking of something like an inverted
radar dish. Originally I was thinking of having something fabricated out of
steel, in part for the added ballast the weight would provide; but it's cost prohibitive at 1/4", although still waiting on a quote for 1/8".
So my questions are: 1. Any other ideas as to what else might prove affective, 2. Any other construction methods/materials, 3. I'm 40' long with a 12' beam and 14 tons; I was thinking of hanging 3 on each side, roughly 24" in diameter...thoughts? I'm NOT a
designer by any stretch, so I'm totally winging it here & would appreciate any input from those of you with more experience.
