Some glues "melt" what is being joined, which would be a chemical bond. The glue used to join PVC pipe is an example. These glues are typically very specific to the material being joined. 5200 would be an example of a physical bond...which can in many cases be good enough.
waxy plastic will not bond with epoxy. tried it on my kayak. gflex willnot either--tried it.
i also tried resistol , a 2 part plastic looking stuff that works like splash zone--that works on plastic .is available in mexico. donot know if it is available in usa. i use the blue, as opposed to the green, and it worked well .
