Which Winch??

The boat we are about to buy has
(2) Barlow #16 Chrome single speed
(1) Barlow #19 Chrome two speed
(2) Barlow #24 Chrome two speed
(2) Barlow #30 Chrome two speed
Looking all over the web for prices on new self tailers and they elude me. Probably only replace the #30's mabe the #24's. Wondering wich ones are the best bang for the buck. O yea and how much do they cost???

I like the Arco Winches. Any winches I've replaced on this boat have been Arco. Had them on my last boat. I'm including a link. The company doens't appear to do well with email till you call them. Then they were great. I like them better than the Andersons (the currently in vogue winches) because on he Anderson the containing ring spins on and off (it's threaded ) and although some people like that, I've felt is was a detriment. The Arco have a captive spring ring (don't know what it is really called) but it will not come off accidentally.

The Barlows and Barients aren't made anymore. If you are looking at replacements from Lewmar, Harken or Andersen their numbers, i. e. 30 are much different. A Barlow 30 would be replaced by an Andersen 52.
Good luck. I've been shopping eBay for a match to my Lewmar 52CST and have had only three come up in the last 6 months. I was outbid each time so am still looking.
Kind Regards,
