Re: Where are the cheap used spinnakers?

I bought a previously owned 40' boat sloop.
Aboard was a brand new 'dear god' asymmetrical spinnaker, bought by previous owner and never taken out of its bag and hoisted.
Previous owner did not even know its color !

The spinnaker had been delivered in wide bag which could not pass through the hatches. Previous owner had stored it under the forward V birth, under a one piece plywood board and mattress as wide as the V berth.
Previous owner had never found the energy to extract it from this storage. !

With scissors and a sewing machine I changed the shape of the bag to a narrow cylinder . I also cut the plywood board in two hinged parts.
My god, what a beautiful and so easily handled spinnaker !

Note : Spinnaker stored in stupidly wide bags which cannot pass through doors nor hatches are a frequent occurence.

Beyond our expensive yachts and powerfull tenders, beyond the beach front bar, live the real inhabitants of the land we mean to visit.....
