So we're taking the hulls (below waterline) down to fiberglass
due to some cosmetic blistering all throughout the gelcoat
layer. After any fiberglass repairs
are addressed, we will fill and fair with an epoxy
system and then apply an epoxy
based barrier coat (Interprotect 2000 or similar). On top of the barrier coat we will apply Coppercoat bottom paint
At which point should we install the new thru-hulls? I'm thinking after the barrier coat is applied, so that there will be protection under the lip of mushroom heads, but would love to hear the thoughts of others.
