When preventative maintenance pays off

While doing a tap test on a few bolts on the chainplates the below was found. Very suprised as the rest of the rig is in good condition and was surveyed 3 months prior, maybe time to replace...[emoji17] [emoji17]. Anyway sorry to get sidetracked.

What have you found on your boat that could of resulted in catastrophic failure if not dealt with?

-Pictures would be great.

Re: When preventative maintenance pays off

how about this. The first one was the chain plate, but... The second was what was once ply which held the L bolts which held the chain plates. It was a job to replace this mess. chain plates

Wow I just read the blog post. Lucky you caught that one bletso. I suppose when the bolts kept turning you would of suspected damage straight away.
