what kind of paint?

hi there, janet here (toms better half).. just have a project of painting the wooden drawers from the galley. Is it necessary to use marine quality paint for this project (west marine suggested something at 40 bucks a quart!) or can i just use a good quality outdoor paint that i find at home depot?
thanks!

We like a good gloss with mildew resistance from Lowes or Home Depot if Lowes is not around.

You can use any paint, but some are better than others. Firstly I do not recommend Acrylics. Things stick to it even once well dried.
Water based single pot epoxies are a good choice as it gets very hard and is wear and chip resistant. But a simple turps based indoor paint will work just fine. it does not have top be outdoor. Outdoor means it has good UV protection, something you won't have trouble with inside.
