Weatherspan and glue problemo

A year ago I installed head linings out of 4.5mm ply with weatherspan vinyl glued on. The glue was ados general purpose spray adhesive.
The glue has let go (again) on the fold over edges, which I replaced 6 month age with Ados F2.
Once again it is a tacky mess & difficult to clean off.
On researching I found out that the plasticiser leaches out of the vinyl and turns the glue to a gooey mess with reduced adhesive properties.
Darn annoying.
Anyone come across this?
Any suggestions for cleaning the goo off without destroying the vinyl?
I guess I used the wrong adhesive.
Should have used F22.

Re: Weatherspan and glue problemo

I know that this problem has been mentioned on here before. With the word plasticizer being the one which jogged my memory, so you might do search the forums here using it as the key word to search under. Though from how you describe things, it sounds as if the glue may already have effectively destroyed the liner material. I hope not, but...
What say you?

Re: Weatherspan and glue problemo

Fortunately the weather span seems ok but such a PIA dewiring, unscrewing, cleaning,
regluiing.....when i could be doing fun things to the boat.
Don't you just detest doing things over?, Think I'll just have to leave it this sailing season & put a sign up that anyone that mentions the crappy headlining job will wake up swimming.

BTW, the refoiled rudder is awesome from my organic built in stall-o-meter. Cant verify with numbers yet (no instruments), but definitely higher & faster. (From SA)
