Waste Through Hull

We have a C&C 37R that we purchased last fall. She has been on the hard for 3 years now and we are putting her into the water this spring. We have this through hull and we are unsure and need advice, It is the waste through hull and from the pics you can see some rust on the outside of the hull. The word SCOT in imprinted on the through hull. Does anyone know how this is installed? How do we remove it or service it. Thanks all!

Re: Waste Through Hull

The theee bolts on the flange most likely go through the hull and the fairing on one is compromised and corroding. It is a flush mount and my personal fear would be the mix of bronze and what appears to be nylon, threading and expansion aside. You may be able to drill the bad bolt out, replace, disassemble the seacock, and try and clean or lap the seacock if it’s possible (didn’t look up Scott seascocks). Remove with as many tools as needed, step wench/crescent wrench handle, recip saw, grinder, pipe wrench c4. Thru hull threads into the seacock and by the install you may just be able to twist them apart. Replace with good quality bronze fittings all the way to the hose, no plastic to metal as shown. Quick search I got this...hope it helps
