Wanting to paint my Aries bass boat. need advice.

Well today my brother in law gave me his Aries bass boat. The boat was given to him by a friend. I do not have the specs on the boat yet but it needs a complete refreshing. He soda blasted the body because he was going to paint it and then realized he doesn't have the time to finish it. Well being that it was free i gladly accepted it because i love a project. I am going Saturday to get it and i have already been running ideas through my head. I am wanting to paint the boat gloss black nothing fancy because i will add vinyl afterwards. I have some experience painting automobiles but none with boats. Can anyone here help lay out the procedures that are needed. Also product recommendations are good as well. This boat will not be stored in the water or anything like that just a weekend river boat. Thanks!
