| want to raise boom
if i raise the outboard end of my boom two feet i can install a hard dodger that would really improve life aboard. i have a dreadnought 32. she's cutter rigged. the boom is 16 feet long. if i raise the outboard end of my boom two feet and leave everything else alone is this going to change much more than losing some sail area? thanks.

We raised the outboard end of our boom aboard Samadhi V for better head clearance (safety). Our boom is about 19' long and we raised the end about 18" when all was said and done. We have the foot of the mainsail re-cut and we have to adjust the rigid vang (very slightly). Aside from that there haven't been any issues, we are very happy.
