Voyage 440 black water tank

I have a constant stench from the area around my black water tank. I suspect that somehow, possibly is a past injury, that the black water tank has been damaged. Can anybody give me any insight as to the construction of the tank. Is it molded into the hull? can it be removed as a self contained unit ?
Is there a material I can brush or spray around the inside of the tank to seal it without removing it?
Any ideas and assistance welcome - life will be better without the stench!

Re: Voyage 440 black water tank

I'm afraid you will find that it IS the hull. Or the sides of the keel, if you will. It is coated on the inside with a thick epoxy barrier coat, AFAIK.

Make sure that you don't completely fill the tank. That subjects the sealant of the inspection port to excessive pressure from external pressure on the keel sides (which can flex). You can reseal the inspection plate. Obviously, all plumbing fittings must not leak.
