Took the boat out for a little daysailing today in light winds. There was enough to shut the engine
down after a slow run out of the channel. Once out a ways, the winds died and I started the engine
Running along at about 1800 RPM
, everything was pretty smooth. Once I bumped to 2200 though, there was a definite vibration. Looking at my packing gland
, everything looks in good shape. About 10 drops per minute, so not too tight.
Either the cutlass bearing, or prop...
How hard is it to change the bearing under water
? I am not sure that it is the problem, but I want to have an idea of what is involved should it come to that.
