While you are on this subject of propeller
nut anodes; ....never had seen these till I bought this other boat.
Tried to find online, some picture explaining how the 3 bladed propeller
goes onto a 1" tapered shaft.
I guess it has a regular hex nut behind the prop, then comes a fairly thick washer, then the tapered nut ( what are those slots for?) , then the acorn type zinc anode just slides on top of that tapered nut, then this zinc is held in place with a screw at the center end of the cone.
Is there a cotter pin to hold the nuts and end screw from spinning off?
What keeps that small end screw from unscrewing?
turns clockwise when looking at the crankshaft pulley. Perkins 4.108
Are these prop nuts screwed 'righty-tighty', (the regular way) and that keeps them from unscrewing?
Did not remember seeing a cotter pin or being wired together.
Could not find pictures or explanations so as to be prepared to replace the missing zinc when I get to dive under.
Can any of you explain how the propeller and the zinc is held in place?
Thank you all.
