IMO, in the same category as automotive electronic rust protection and snake oil.

Re: Ultrasonic antifouling

So far for a $2,500 investment it does not sound like I will make the investment. We have a local cruisers net and I will see if anyone here has one installed. I am wondering about the sound if you are swimming around the boat? If you get close e to a depth sounder you can hear it snapping maybe this also.

Even direct on the place that the transmitter was glued on the inside, there was many barnacles. My conclusion is that it doesn’t work on my boat.

I send some photos to CleaABoat on how I have mounted the transmitter and how the hull looked when I took up the boot, and asked if I hade installed it wrong somehow. I have not received any response.

Unless you can back up your bold talk with some documentation, it's just more hot air, chief.

Ultrasonic antifouling

Never expected you to say anything else. After all no bottom solution works except a diver in your world.

Please the latest issue of Sail with article from Nigel Calder.

Re: Ultrasonic antifouling

Nigel Calder is reporting good results so far, but is withholding judgement until another season has passed. I think it's important to remember that this technology is not meant to replace bottom paint and maintenance, but rather to extend the effective life of the paint.

It does not work, It will not work, DO NOT waist your money nor time on it. I've earned MS degree in this field, it would take me a week to explain why that idea will not work, I do not want to waist your time nor mine.

I was not aware Lars had a problem until I just joined this forum.

Hmmm... OK. I guess Lars sent his communication to a different CleanBoat back in March. And I guess it's just a coincidence you joined the forum today and happened across this thread. Nobody clued you in that your product was getting hammered here, right?

No, I don't suppose you would. I get it- your deal is that you come in here, throw a snide remark or two around, make some bold claim and when you're called on it, refuse (or are unable) to back it up. Like I said- I get it.

I am interested in how it works, no matter of the price. The price will only be an issue if it works, then I will consider price.

I understand it would be used in conjunction with a painted on anti fouling product.

Thanks for your comments.

These were pretty much evaluated in Practical Sailor. It came out as a bust.
