Ultrasonic AF - First-Hand Experiences ?

So I'm resurecting a thread about another snake oil...
It's been about 3 years on this forum and 5 years on other sailing forums since the first ultrasonic antifouling threads.
How many people in these 3-5 years tried it? Did you like it? Did you stick (hehe) with it?

I have read the Ultrasonic Anti-Fouling thread with excellent posts by Allen Wheeler, Gord May, Nordic Cat, and others. I'm just looking for some recent usage stats.

Thanks in advance!

Yes we here at CF have been waiting for someone else to try it and get back to us. :-)

All of the posts on this and other discussion sites touting the wonders and benefits should help answer your question. Anything that works well or even works at all gets around in the boating community very quickly. The technology has not changed or improved. Chuck

I'm not doing a search here or other sites (and I did read the last one we had).

So are you saying it is being touted by non-manufacturers as working or not working?

Re: Ultrasonic AF - First-Hand Experiences ?

I'm saying that no one is using it or talking about it because it does not work. If it had any practical application and did work you would be hearing it from lots of actual boaters and not just from the manufacturers. Chuck

OK, that's the same impression I have.

Re: Ultrasonic AF - First-Hand Experiences ?

The only list of people who use(d) ultrasonic antifouling that I could find is listed on Ultrasonic's website: Yacht Antifouling Testimonials | Power Boat Antifouling Testimonials. Of course, they are all very happy with it.

UK Ministry of Defence and Australian Customs & Border Protection as well as 2 mega-yachts are on the list. The mega-yacht statements are recent. Not sure whether the other guys are still using it...
