I am guessing you went for the cut down sails, rather than sunbrella.

If that was my dinghy, I would be tempted to bolt on a hinge to the keel below the mast, and attach a swinging keel with the rope to lift run back to a pully on the transom.

By shifting your weight, and raising and lowering the keel, you should be able to change center of resisance to balance rig. Ditto on the adding weight to keel tip, (a couple of bolt on 10-15lbs lead plates?).

That thing looks cool, like a classic sailing ship.

should splash her tommorrow... finishing touches today are to install padeyes/ pie plates for hiking strap, change jib sheet leads... assemble the rudder...

sails are taped, stiched and bent on, hanks are made - spliced 3 strand and oak dowels...

Needs more sail area, a tiller extension, and a plank for hiking out. Great looking project.

Yeah. Big fun! Sailing without a centerboard can be interesting. Wish I had a dinghy. Rock on.

splash time t minus 4 hours... to do list this morning
- tie on tiller extension
- make/install hiking strap
- lines to retain leeboard...

rig is folded up and in the bag. everything save the rudder and lee board are in there so storage on the mothership shouldnt be too bad

cant promise a video as that is beyond my current level of technological ownership/mastery... youll have to settle for pictures for now... if she sails well enough im thinking about taking a stab at the everglades challange this year...
