through hole/sea chest.

Just read the thread "Re: how do these keel bolts and thru hulls look to you?". There seems to be a fair amount of talk about through holes their quality, and obvious dangers. Why are more boats not build using a sea chest? Seems to be a much better design to have 1 through hole feeding a sea chest. If there ever was a problem you know you 100% what valve to shut off the stop the flow of water. Then you can figure out the problem in a much calmer situation.
