Boat maintenance is so expensive it will force your pocket book to cry. But that begs the question, do wallets cry crocodile tears?

You can cry during boat maintenance, it is allowed and even expected.

But crying isn't going to get you out of doing it!

i laugh at your weepiness and raise ye a freeking awesome out of country repair guy who is smart and decent worker, with super low to be envied pricing. lol....
enjoy your cry, as you chose to repair in usa. land of the high pay and huge repair prices as a result.

ohyeah--parts and rebuilding of old parts is easy here and less pricey than in good old usa..enjoy

sorry to sound as if i am laughing at your expense. i am laughing at my intelligence for having done this and finding exactly what my boat needs most. and celebrating my good fortune and brilliance

No crying? He must of never had to replace a 30 year old sanitation system or had it rain on his seventh and final coat of varnish..

heeeheeeheeheehee i my sanitation system rebuilt underway and repair guy laughed hard...not cry--laughed..lol
rain on varnish--i dont do varnish--i sail instead and use sea water and oil as used to be used when my uncle learned how to repàir wooden boats. works for me, and when i do the work it takes about 6 hours from start to finish and i am done for a year. bring on the rain. it does that here....and it is kinda fun doing the washing with sea water during rainfall...

Look at the positive side.....were it not for interior boat maintenance you would probably be out in the sun too much and get bad sunburns and possibly drink too many cocktails and rot your liver. And then if you didn't have all that lovely exterior maintenance you would probably sleep too much, get lazy and turn into a couch potato! So inside and out you get a good workout and save the gym fees.

Were it not for that boat and all the maintenance you would probably need therapy and psychiatrists are even more expensive than the guys in the boat yard. so just shut up and get back to work.....just sayin.

I'm trying to get up the gumption to replace my 22 year old sanitation plumbing. I know it has to be done, but I am not looking forward to this.

group9'--find a derelict sailor who knows something , like, lots, about boats. pay him to do the nasty stuff.....
but keep eyes open. that way boat dont sink during the work..lol...is a lot easier when someone else can do the work...
tami---i didnt work system deliberately--it just happened, and ye never know when ye can make it work to your advantage.
i never let the open opportunity pass unused....

Easily the best sage advice on CF.... In the
"What is your favorite quote?" thread...

By ..... Normanby

When you sail, the whole world sails with you....
But when you sand, you sand alone.

Truer words were never spoken....
