The Restoration of 'Lady J' - Launched After 19 Years Feet Dry

The day finally arrived and the "Lady J", K-40 hull number, went feet wet for the first time in 19 years. She seeped at about 1000 Gals an hour for the first thrity minutes and then took up rapidly. Twelve hours after launch, the water in the bilges had dropped below the pumps. As good as she looked on the hard, the sight of her in the water was amazing.

Here's a slideshow and a couple of pics.

Spectacular Charlie. Are you taking her out for a cruise? Any interior photos?

I still think they made the right decision to keep the hull bright. She's a beauty! Nice job CC!

You are on C St near Squalicum right? I was down at the diesel repair shop and saw her when she was about to splash. Almost broke my neck looking. Absolutely beautiful!
