The Restoration of 'Lady J' - A Follow-Up

Here's a long delayed follow-up on Lady J. The interior paint is done but we have some assembly of various parts and the cabin sole to finish.
Here are some interior shots:
Starboard forward

Port forward

Starboard aft

Port aft

V-Berth

Head

Of course, we've been busy topside as well. The boat is filthy at the moment.
Looking forward

Looking aft to Port

Cabin trunk face

Fore hatch

Cockpit coaming

Aft cabin port

Aft cabin starboard

Cockpit forward

More parts awaiting installation.

and

Then there was the mast work. I finished the cuts, scarphing (16:1) and glue up of the various parts. Then came time to plane, trim and shape the radius. all by hand with antique planes I bought last year.
These side panels curve and change demensions along their length. Perfect match...

and

These fore and aft pieces are radiused along their length. Fun job with an 80 year old plane.

So there ya have it for now. More to come later this month...

Re: A Lady J Follow-Up

Saucy, I lost count... There's 16 coats on the exterior (which about half of that sanded away to get it flat). Blue, ya know I have a cure for that.... Thanks Sara and Mark.

Re: A Lady J Follow-Up

While the boys were working away on the other K-40, I took the time to mock up the mast for Lady J to check fitment. Needless to say, I am pleased. Next I'll set the glue stop blocks and glue the thing up. Here's a couple of photos. It's starting to look like a mast again.

Re: A Lady J Follow-Up

Ummm I think you missed the photos Charlie!

Sabre

Edit, never mind, my connection has decided to behave like molasses in spring time. I've never seen it this slow.
