Temp sender source

Looking for a source for a temp sender. Can't seem to find what I want in VDO list.

M18 x1.5. 250 deg WITH alarm

The alarm bit semis yo be the sticking point.

Just got a new Farina gage.

Re: Temp sender source

Don't you need to use 2 different senders?

Re: Temp sender source

Vdo makes some 2in 1 units....sender and alarm. I just can't identify one for my size fitting. I really don't want to drill and tap for a separate sender.

Well, should you never find that sender, how about a pipe "T"? I used that idea for an oil pressure sender and warning sender.

Re: Temp sender source

Yes, a tee will work for oil, bit an 18mm tee? 18mm is a fairly huge connector.

Maybe I can find a 18 to 14 mm converter.

Re: Temp sender source

You need for the sender to be in the flow of a liquid to be accurate, a T won't do that, plus of course you have to be in liquid contact to get the temp, a T could easily be an air trap
