Teak Cockpit

I bought a 48" Pacemaker SF and she has a fiberglass deck in the cockpit. I really want to put in a nice teak deck but i'm not sure where to start. Any tips or suggestions?

For your sake, I hope I am wrong, but even if you budget $100 psf, it probably will not be enough. An internet search may find some CNC places that are likely to be the best deal you will find.

Re: Teak Cockpit

Cruising concepts in the Northwest made a really nice teak grate for our cockpit. We simply made a template from newspapers and mailed it to them along with where the pedestal or other objects were. It was 3 pieces and went down and up easily for cleaning. Looked great and was very affordable. I have pictures if you are interested.

Re: Teak Cockpit

skearnes,

Give it away. Seriously. There are other ways to deal with cockpit gratings that cost much less than teak. And, by the time you add the $100/hr for the tradesman to make it for you, unless she is concours d'elegance type boat, you should spend your waiting time sailing her.
