Starwind 22' Mainsail

Hey sailors,
I'm new to the forum and sailing. I bought a 22' swing keel starwind, and I'm looking for a used mainsail or a decent priced new one. I'm in south Carolina, someone please send me in the right direction. 24' x 9' on the foot. Anyone in my area that wants some sailing friends let me know. Thanks for the help!!

Hi and welcome to CF!

I'm sure you'll find some sailing companions here...

Re: starwind 22' mainsail

I have recently acquired a 1983 Starwind 22 and may also be in the market for a jib sail. Would you let me know if you receive any feedback? Also do you have a manual for the Starwind that I can get a copy of? Thanks

Re: Starwind 22' Mainsail

Hey,
I have a working jib for that boat. I think its also called a storm jib. I only use my 150% genoa up front. I don't have the manual but i have done tons of research and could prolly answer any questions.

Re: Starwind 22' Mainsail

The rudder on my boat has a broken clam cleat so it tends to rise up when under sail. Do you have a picture of how the cleat needs to be rigged in order to hold the rudder down? I think a line runs down the stern edge and up the other side of the rudder that allows it to adjusted up or down. I will have to check to see if I have a jib or a genoa for the fore sail. I'll measure it and try to figure it out. Thanks for all your help!!

Google starwind rudder. Look under images and there are a few pictures with rudder lines run. My rudder also kicks up and I haven't figured out how to stop it. I do have a jam cleat up by tiller connection.
