Stanchions for Morgan Out Island Sailboat

My stanchions were damaged by a hurricane and I am having difficulty finding new/used ones like the originals. They have a bulbous top and are difficult to reproduce.
If you know of any salvage yard that has any Morgan Out Islands or their stanchions please let me know. Also, If you know of anyone who could make these.

Not offhand but there's an outfit in (Michigan? Wisconsin?) called Tops In Quality that actually made a lot of original stianless for boats, and probably can match whatever you have.

I can't seem to find it now but recently read a post here about someone that had a Morgan they were stripping down. Not sure if that would be what you need or not. Maybe you can find it ... I'll look around some more.

Re: Stanchions for Morgan Out Island Sailboat

Capnmac, Here's a photo of my temporarily splinted original stanchion on my Morgan OI model 413 ketch.

As you see, I was able to replace the piece with a straight simple pipe and keep the base and cap. I don't see the model of your Morgan OI in your profile. Is yours a more recent Catalina built "Morgan Classic" or maybe a 416? A photo of the stanchion or the ID of the model might help.

I am attaching a photo of the upper portion of the stanchion with the bulbous shape.
I hope this works.

Re: Stanchions for Morgan Out Island Sailboat

Hello Sailor

Thank you so much for your recommending Tops in Quality to me. They appear to have changed their name to Whitewater Marine Inc. When I went to the Tops in Quality site it directed me to them.

They did not carry my particular design but agreed to fabricate new ones for me if I sent one of mine in to them ($85.00 each). Their price is not much more than the West Marine price for a standard stanchion.

I have been looking for about six years on and off and have come up with nothing. I plan to share this info with other sailors.

Again, thank you and our other members for their assistance.
