Small diesel tank

I am looking for a source of an inexpensive tank to hold diesel fuel for my gravity fed Dickinson heater. I only need a tank that holds about 3 to 5 gallons, is somewhat narrow so I can mount it against a bulkhead. Anyone have any ideas on what I can use? I am trying to avoid the "custom" tank manufacturing cost.

Why not use a portable 5 gal yellow diesel plastic fuel container. Adapt a hose and a vent to it. Then secure it with straps in a permanent spot......_/)

I will be installing my gravity fed Dickinson soon and was able to find a used aluminum kerosene tank that was being discarded. I think boat salvage, or boatyards should be able to help you out. Delmarrey's idea was very good too but I think any heavy duty plastic fuel container would do, even an old used lawn tractor tank might be ok.

go to or call a truck wrecking yard and see if they have any alum. air tanks from peterbuilt/kenworth or mack. they are or can be poliched if exposed in open location. they would not be that expen. i think. in R.I. check with colony trucks around prov. somewhere
