Re: Shopping for a New Rolling Furler

Here's my vote for Profurl. Used one on my 25' extensively without an issue so we replaced both old Profurls with new Profurls on our 38' ketch.

Re: Shopping for a New Rolling Furler

For what it is worth, we have a Selden on ours, and I like the compact and solid drum, the foil is excellent, and so far it has given no trouble at all, nor any sign of wear.
Come end of season, we wind the line fully onto the drum, then put on a cover we had made which fully protects the lower mechanism and the furling line from weather (the sail is off of course).

Re: Shopping for a New Rolling Furler

Have replaced furlers on 6 yachts with Reefurl. Cannot fault! Easy to install, price competitive and virtually nothing breaks.

How long have you had it?

Re: Shopping for a New Rolling Furler

STAY away FROM CDI I purchased one this past season
Totaly Working with CDI is not worth the cheaper price.
also sail changes underway when needed can be a real hassle.
Go to a good rigger they are worth the price,

I believe I put my Alado on in 2008. I had to replace my headstay that was damaged because of a bad halyard wrap from my more conventional furling system (and bad weather). It was an old system that came with the boat, but I think it was Harken. I was impressed enough by the failure to look for something that could not wrap the halyard and found this. The simple design made sense to me.
