I'm looking for information based on experience to get
gear down to
San Carlos, MX from Southern
California. Most
gear is heavy like tools, long like
fishing poles, odd sized, cumbersome, etc. Not only are flights expensive to Guaymas, MX, but most
boat stuff is not airline friendly. I've heard the horror stories about
shipping, and I've have UPS tell me
buying insurance will do nothing but increase their profit margin. UPS recommended I use a freight
broker. Driving eight hours to see if I can get a TIP and not charged duties doesn't seem fun, and driving across the boarder wouldn't be my first choice just to bring gear down to
San Carlos.
