Sea Ray Kingboard?
Hi,
We just bought our first Cruiser, a used Sea Ray 260 2005 year. Looking over the service records I noticed the Kingboard was replaced. We do not know how important this is?

Barry, in case you are wondering how your post got from the "Forum Tech Support" category to here -- I moved it. I also corrected the title, I hope appropriately.
Unfortunately, I know nothing about Kingboards (unless this refers to the King Starboard polyethylene material) or Sea Rays, but I expect that someone here will.
And yes, welcome to Cruiser's Forum!

What exactly was replaced? I have to admit I have never heard of a king board on a boat. Can you provide pics?

My thought is that the King Board would be that center plank in a teak deck where all the deck boards meet. Is this the piece that you are refering to?

None seem to have teak decks, unless it was an aftermarket installation.

I found it in the receipts as a replacement item. I will call the Sea Ray dealer that did the work.

Indeed.
I wouldn't expect a late model Sea Ray to have wood decks, nor a king board.

Did a little creative googling and this is all I found re Searays and kingboard.
Storage exists under the kingboard seat bases for lifejackets and so on
From this I am guessing that kingboard is some kind of synthetic construction sheet material that is used for seat bases and such. Probably will have no effect on your engine performance.

Given the dealer did the work I would not worry too much. Chances are good it was done correctly.
