Sand paper sold by the yard? (like in Panama)

In panama I was buying sand paper off a large roll (around 36'') for about $10 yard. Here in the US they charge about the same for 4 sheets!
Can you buy sandpaper by the yard in the US?

Try this place. Not by the yard, but they have rolls and lower prices.

Depending on your application - if it's the bottom sanding - you can also take a bucket of beach sand and a sponge sized scrap of styrofoam for massive 100 grit results.

Bottom jobs are when I get out the long board, & use belt sander belts instead of paper. Holds a sharp tooth a lot longer than most regular sandpaper.

I use those a lot. You can spray-glue them to any sort of board--you can even make a plywood backing pad for a circular grinder and spray glue to that. Some guys make a square pad for their 7-inch grinder and fair with that, since the square prevents gouging like a circular pad would do.

Yeah, I saw the 3m spray glue trick down in Panama too.

Not on a DA, but on a big 7-ich angle grinder. Pretty scary, but effective.
