Yep, I use the fresh water technique too.

As for vingear, I don't understand using this. As far as I know, it does not react to salt at all. Being acidic, it will react to with metals and some (all?) metal oxides so it will clean some of the rust caused by the salt but it won't touch the salt itself. Of course the water that makes up 80+ % of vingear will dissolve the salt .

Salt- Away - perhaps it works but I'd love to hear a credible chemical explantion on the way it works; meantime I remain doubtful.
