Sail recut question

Hi all. How hard is it to recut a sail. I have the chance of buying a second hand high profile oversize sail and wanted to know possibility of getting a recut for my ketch.

G'Day mate,

First, what is "a high profile" sail? Second, what sort of sail are you talking about? Main, mizzen, genoa, spinnaker... Third, how much oversize is it? Fourth, what sort of cut is it... cross, radial, etc?

Hi tech, hi aspect, hi performance mainsail. Beautiful aerodynamic shape. Luff 13.10 m. Foot 4.4m. Area 44 sq m. 3 reefing points. Suits straight mast but easily adaptable to bendy mast. Good condition. No battens, and not many slugs.


This was on ebay. Finished now. Went for $73.00. Dont care which sail it would be for. They all need renewing. My main luff 10.2 foot 3.4. genoa 11.3 x 5.7 foot.
