Running wiring through the foam sandwich

Gday,

I have a perry 43 cat and want to run some wire from a bulkhead light to a fan I wish to install about 600mm away. the proposed path for the wiring is flat.

Any ideas on how to get the wire through. I have thought of making or buying a flexible arm with a 8mm drill bit on the end but I don't know if I can buy such a beast.

They're called cable bits or installer bits

Or if you have (or know) a welder, they're easily made.

Re: Running wiring through the foam sandwich

Thanks for your response, i did manage to get some flexible bits which have a high speed drill bit on the end. Your bits with an auger look better, i have concerns about the drill bit deflecting and going through the fibreglass, i think an auger bit with a screw on the end would be less likely to deflect.
Again many thanks for the advice

Don't use a drill bit! A piece of piano wire, hinge pin or welding rod and a cordless drill.
